Malabar Farm State Park
Welcome to Ohio's beautiful and historic Malabar Farm State Park located near Lucas.
Park History: This park was the dream of pulitzer prize winning author Louis Bromfield. The historic farmhouse today has 32 rooms and Bromfield once described the place as "Every inch of it (the house) has been in hard use since it was built and will, I hope go on being used in the same fashion so long as it stands. Perhaps one day it will belong to the state together with the hills, valleys and woods of Malabar Farm." In 1972 the State of Ohio purchased the land and made it into a park. Today this park has an annual Syrup festival, seasonal wagon tours, a fishing pond, and a few hiking trails. All of the park's campsites are primitive and cannot be reserved. Come out and explore.
