The West Woods Park

Russell, Ohio

Welcome to The West Woods Park in Russell, Ohio. This park helps protect beautiful woodlands and the historic Ansel's cave which is said to have harbored escaped slaves, Civil War soldiers, and bootleggers. In 1933 this land was purchased by a man named W.H. Eisenman who gave the land to the American Society for Materials. The first parcels of land were given to the park district in 1992 and 1994 and since that time it has been a magnificent recreation area.

This park's two picnic shelters as well as Affelder House can be reserved for parties and other events. Please call 440-286-9516.
