Heritage Park
Welcome to Heritage Park located in Shawnee, Ohio.
Park History: This piece of land was put to multiple uses before it first became a park. It was the site of the last Shawnee Native American Reservation in the State of Ohio. In more recent years it was a working farm owned by the Hover Family and then finally a piece of the Lima Army Modification center before finally going to the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District in 1973. Today much of the former pasture is still in a process of natural reforestation.
For the lover of the outdoors Heritage Park boasts horseshoe courts, a volleyball court, hiking trails, and much more. Come on out and have fun.
