Huffman Metro Park
Welcome to the beautiful Huffman Metro Park located in Springfield, Ohio. This park was first established in the early 20th century with the help of the Miami Conservancy. It was purchased with two main purposes, flood control, and green space protection. In the 1930's the Civilian Conservation Corps, under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt helped to construct the park's amenities. The protected land inside this park protects the wildlife habitat of raccoons, white-tailed deer, and numerous bird species including blue herons, woodpeckers, owls, hawks, and many others. It is a great birdwatching destination.
Some of the park's other great recreational features include three miles of multipurpose trails, numerous aquatic recreational opportunities, a picnic shelter, and much more. Come out and have an adventure in Huffman Metro Park.
