Turner Falls Park
Welcome to the oldest park in the State of Oklahoma, the beautiful Turner Falls Park located in Davis. The park itself is named for the land's previous owners, the family of Mazeppa Thomas Turner. Turner was born in Virginia but migrated to Oklahoma and set up a farm and married a Chickasaw Native American woman named Laura Johnson. The City of Davis bought the first parcels of land back in 1919 and in 1925 they bought the rest from the Turner Family, 370 acres for a price of only $17K.
Today this park remains a popular recreation area and is also a popular geological field trip destination with it's diverse rocks of sandstone, granite, shale, and limestone. The falls themselves tumble 77 feet into a beautiful and natural swimming hole. Come out and take a swim.
In the summer season which runs from May 1-September 30 park admission fees are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors (55 years of age and up) and children (ages 6-12). Children 5 and under get in free year round. For the winter season admission fees are a flat $4 for adults and children ages 6 and up and $3 for seniors. The cabins generally range in price of about $150 a night and have a capacity of 4 people each. No pets are allowed in the park. The developed campsites generally cost around $25 a night and are a first come first serve basis. For more information please call 580-369-2988.
