Camp Woods Preserve
Welcome to the beautiful Camp Woods Preserve, a valuable piece of suburban green space in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. This is one of the largest remaining sections of deciduous forest in the metropolis of Philadelphia and is a popular place with local bird-watchers. Some of the resident birds include red-tailed hawks, and Pileated Woodpeckers. The history behind the name of this natural park goes back to the Revolutionary War when members of the Continental Army camped in this region after suffering a major defeat at the Battle of Germantown.
