Welcome to Pennsylvania's beautiful Varden Conservation Area located northeast of Scranton on the banks of Middle Creek. This ladn was generously given to the state by it's previous owner Dr. Mead Shaffer who was a local veterinarian. The land belonged to his family for over two centuries.
