Whipple Dam State Park
Welcome to the beautiful Whipple Dam State Park located near Petersburg, Pennsylvania. For many years before it became a state park the land in this region was harvested for it's timber and iron resources. The park was first established in 1927.
Boating: Whipple Lake is only 22 acres in size and thus has a ban on gasoline powered watercraft. However when the winds are nice it is actually a great place for sailing.
Wildlife: Some of the wild residents of Whipple Dam State Park include white-tailed deer, black bears, blue herons, osprey, and wild turkey. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
