Pennsylvania State Forests

Welcome to Pennsylvania's Susquehannock State Forest located in the northern central part of the state. Susquehannock State Forest gets it's name from the Native American tribe that occupied this region long before the first European settlers arrived. In more recent times it was heavily logged for it's timber resources in the 1920's. However during the Great Depression Era the Civilian Conservation Corps worked hard to reforest this region and build it's recreational amenities. Some of these amenities include over 550 miles of multipurpose trails for people to explore. Susquehannock State Forest also gives home to numerous wild animals including screech owls, red-tailed hawks, white-tailed deer, coyotes, raccoons, and many others. Come out and explore!
