Welcome to Swan Lake Iris Gardens in Sumter, South Carolina. Once a private retreat for a a local businessman named Hamilton Carr Bland back in 1927, this park, was generously given to the community by the Bland and Heath Families and is unique in that it's the only public park in the United States to have all 8 swan species. In addition to the swans there are also over 120 varieties of Iris, several blooming wildflowers, an arboretum with over 172 species of plants (including 100 species of trees), and a butterfly garden. Many festivals are hosted here throughout the year including events for Easter, Earth Day, and Christmas.
