Welcome to Dunbar Cave State Park in Clarksville, Tennessee about 60 miles northwest of the State Capitol. This park and the cave are named for an 18th century settler Thomas Dunbar. Dunbar was eventually deprived of his land but the cave kept it's name. Before the invention of AC it was a popular summer destination with an entrance that is 58 degrees farenheit year round. The cave itself is over 8 miles in length making it one of the largest in the region. It first became a State Park in 1973.
