House Mountain State Natural Area

Welcome to Tennessee's beautiful House Mountain State Natural Area located about 15 miles from downtown Knoxville. Knox County helps to manage this beautul and diverse forest preserve. From the summit of House Mountain at an elevation of 2,100 feet people can see for many miles around. House Mountain also draws many birdwatchers from many miles around due to over 100 species of birds being spotted here. These birds include pileated woodpeckers, red-tailed hawks, scarlet tanagers, and many others.
