Cumberland Mountain State Park
Welcome to Tennessee's Cumberland Mountain State Park, located on what is believed to be the most heavily forested plateau in the United States, the Cumberland Plateau. This piece of land was first put to recreational use in 1934 when the Farm Security Administration purchased the land for 250 homestead families. Many of the park's amenities were built by the Civlian Conservation Corps including what is considered to be their largest masonry object ever built, the park's Crab Orchard dam/bridge, built out of Crab Orchard Sandstone which was mined in local quarries. Other park amenities include the highly ranked Bear Trace Golf Course, 145 developed campsites, and much more. Come on out and have fun.
