Welcome to Franklin State Forest located on the Cumberland Plateau in south-central Tennessee.

 

Forest History: In 1936 the Cross Creek Coal Company purchased the land. In 1940 the State of Tennessee purchased the land.

 

Wildlife: Franklin State Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild animals including white-tailed deer, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, and hawks. Please treat their home with respect.

 

For the lover of the outdoors Franklin State Forest boasts multipurpose trails and much more. Come on out and have a blast!
