John Tully State Forest

Welcome to John Tully State Forest located in western Tennessee.
Forest History: In 1902 this land was purchased by the Memphis Based timber company known as Anderson-Tully. For the next century the land was primarily used for timber harvesting. In 2002, a century later, the State of Tennessee, U.S. Forest Service, Nature Conservancy, Wildlife Forever, Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation, and National Wild Turkey Federation all chipped in to purchase the land for the Tennessee State Forest System. It is only the second State Forest to be established in the last half century, the other one being Martha Sundquist State Forest.
Wildlife: John Tully State Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild animals including deer, squirrels, raccoons, hawks, and wild turkeys. Please treat their home with respect.
Come on out and explore.
