Natchez Trace State Forest
Welcome to Natchez Trace State Forest located in western Tennessee off of the I-40 corridor.
Forest History: Natchez Trace State Forest was established in 1949 after the State of Tennessee purchased lands from the resettlement administration. At the time the land bared heavy scars from over-use but over the years the State of Tennessee has worked hard to restore the forest and help control fires and erosion.
Wildlife: Natchez Trace State Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild animals include white-tailed deer, squirrels, foxes, raccoons, and hawks. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Natchez Trace State Forest boasts over 28 miles of hiking trails, numerous campgrounds, and so much more. Come on out and explore!
