Tennessee State Parks

Welcome to Tennessee's Big Hill Pond State Park located near the town of Pocahontas. Big Hill Pond itself is manmade and came into existence in 1853 when soil was removed to help build a nearby levee. Ever since that time the pond has remained as well as returned to a state of nature. This land first became a state park in 1977.

Trails: Big Hill Pond State Park is home to over 30 miles of multipurpose trails and even has a a 70 foot tall observation tower with great vifews.

Fishing: The park's 165 acre Travis McNatt Lake is spring fed and is great for fishing for catfish, bass, and bream. Gasoline powered motors are not allowed on the lake.
