Welcome to Big Spring State Park located in Big Spring, Texas. The park is named for a natural spring that was once in the area that was eventually replaced by an artificial spring. It is said that the Native Americans used this spring as a source of fresh water. This land became a State Park in 1934 and many of it's facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Many people come here for their morning jogs or to catch the sunrise of marvelous views of the surrounding region from the park's 200 foot bluff. The park's picnic area has grills. Come out and enjoy yourself.
