Welcome to the beautiful Enchanted Rock State Natural Area located in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Park History: This park and it's large granite formation have over 12,000 years of human history and over 400 archeological sites are on the park grounds. The Tonkawa Native Americans believed that ghost fires once flickered on top of the dome. One legend says that a Native American woman once threw herself off the rock and that her spirit still haunts the area to this day. This place first became a State Natural Area in the fall of 1978. Come out for some great hiking, rock-climbing, and star-gazing opportunities.
