Matagorda Island Wildlife Management Area is a beautiful Texas barrier island that is manged in cooperation with the State of Texas as well as the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. This island park is 38 miles long and no more than four miles wide. Some of the resident wildlife include alligators, white-tailed deer, and many species of migratory birds.
