Meridian State Park
Welcome to Meridian State Park located in Bosque County Texas.
Park History: Long before the first white settlers entered the region the Tawakoni Native American tribe lived in this region and probably used the present day park as hunting grounds. During the Great Depression era of the 1930's Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps worked to build the dam that made this park's 72 acre lake and in 1935 the park finally opened to the public.
Flora and Fauna: Meridian State Park boasts a diversity of plant species including oaks, junipers and numerous wildflowers. Some of the parks wild animals include raccoons, deer, and numerous bird species. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Meridian State Park boasts a lake stocked with bass, catfish, and bream, eight developed campsites, screened picnic shelters, and more. Come out and explore.
