Welcome to Hyrum State Park located in Cache County, Utah. This park makes for an excellent picnic spot and has a lake stocked with rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and bluegill.

Park History: The area in and around Hyrum State Park was founded by the region's early Mormon settlers. Hyrum is named after Joseph Smith's (Founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) brother. The reservoir was established in 1939 but before that time the Mormon settlers had to dig a nine-mile canal in order to bring water to Hyrum. Long before the Mormon's arrived, General Ashley, for whom the Ashley National Forest is named, made a fortune off of Beaver furs in this region.

For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts numerous trials, climbing opportunities, and so much more. Come on out and have fun.
