Welcome to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, an oasis of red-rock cliffs, pine forests, and rust-colored sand located near Kanab, Utah. This park is the site of the only major sand dune field on the Colorado Plateau.

Park History: The park's unique sands come from Navajo Sandstone from as far back as the Jurassic Period so in a sense you could say that this is a Jurassic Park. The high winds are funneled through the Moccasin and Moquith Mountains helping to build the park's present day sand dunes. This is known as the Venturi Affect. The dunes are estimated to be between 10,000 and 15,000 years old.

Wildlife: Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including the unique Coral Pink tiger beetle. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts numerous trails, campsites (no hookups), and so much more. Come on out and explore!

The phone number is 435-648-2800.
