Scofield State Park
Welcome to Scofield State Park nestled in the Manti-LaSal Mountains near Huntington, Utah.
Park History: The first white settlers to arrive in this region came in the 1870's seeking large tracts of grazing land. Scofield State Park was named after a timber contractor who became president of Utah's first coal mining company, General Charles W. Scofield. Scofield's mining operations peaked in the roaring 1920's when the town had 13 saloons, four hotels, 12 stores, a post office, and a population of more than 6,000 people. Today fewer than 100 people live in Scofield.
For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts multipurpose trails open year round, numerous aquatic opportunities, a campground (no hookups) and so much more. Come on out and have fun.
