Welcome to Fred Hayes Park in Bristol, Virginia. I cannot say for certain, but my guess is that this park is named for Fred Haise, a United States Marine Corps veteran who was one of the astronauts on the Apollo 13 mission. Had the mission been successful Hayes would have been the 6th man on the moon.
