Lake Anna State Park
Welcome to Lake Anna State Park! Park History: This land is the location of what used to be a Gold Mind known as “Gold Hill.” Lake Anna was created in 1971 to serve as a cooling lake for a nearby Nuclear Power Facility. In 1972 the State of Virginia began to purchase land for a state park which ended up opening in 1973. Today the park boasts the lake and over 15 miles of multipurpose trails as well as several campsites. Come on out and have a blast!
