Vermont State Forests
Welcome to Aitken State Forest in Mendon, Vermont. This forest was first established in 1912 and over the years the Civilian Conservation Corps helped out a lot with it's restoration. Today it is a very popular hiking destination with awesome views of the Green Mountains.
When visiting any State Park or State Forest in Vermont Please respect the rules.
*The following are prohibited; feeding of wildlife, littering, chainsaws,
*The following require special permits; posting of bills, removal of plants or earth material.
*Glass objects are not allowed in pools or swimming areas.
*The following are only allowed in designated areas, metal detecting, swimming, camping.
*Children aged 14 and under must be supervised by adults.
*All pets must be leashed no longer than 10 feet and waste removed.
Please respect these and all local, State of Vermont, and United States statutes.
