Welcome to L.R. Jones State Forest in located near Plainfield, Vermont on the edge of the much larger Grofton State Forest. The Spruce Mountain Hiking Trail, one of the most popular in Vermont passes through this forest and takes visitors to an old fire tower. This forest was first established in 1909.

When visiting any State Park or State Forest in Vermont Please respect the rules.

*The following are prohibited; feeding of wildlife, littering, chainsaws, 

*The following require special permits; posting of bills, removal of plants or earth material.

*Glass objects are not allowed in pools or swimming areas.

*The following are only allowed in designated areas, metal detecting, swimming, camping.

*Children aged 14 and under must be supervised by adults.

*All pets must be leashed no longer than 10 feet and waste removed.
