Welcome to Washington's unique and beautiful Mount Pilchuck State Park. At this park the name says it all, it contains the summit of a beautiful mountain. The hiking trail ascends over 2000 feet to the summit of Mount Pilchuck which is just over a mile above sea level. The views of the Puget Sound and the surrounding mountains are absolutely gorgeous! Pilchuck itself is a Native American term that means Red Water. In 1918 the United States Forest Service built a fire tower here that was operated for nearly half a century.
