Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve

Olympia, Washington

Welcome to Washington's beautiful Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve located just outside of Olympia on the edge of the Capitol State Forest. This park was first established in 1976 in order to protect one of the last remaining sectinos of Mima Mound formations and Puget Prairie Grasslands. 10 years before it even became a park the National Park Service designated it as a National Natural Landmark one of only 17 in the entire State of Washington.
