Welcome to Washington's beautiful Rockport State Park, located near the town of Rockport in an ancient forest that has never fallen to the timberman's ax. In fact the Sound Timber Company refused to log this beautiful forest and sold it to the State of Washington in 1935 for only a dollar. This park first opened in 1961 and both it and the surrounding town got their name from the large rocks scattered around the place. For the lover of the outdoors Rockport State Park boasts over 5 miles of hiking trails, excellent bird-watching opportunities and much more. It also gives wildlife habitat to bald eagles, squirrels, coyotes, elk, and many others. Come out and explore!
