Welcome to the largest Park in the City of Brookfield, Mitchell Park. The first parcels of land for this park were acquired in 1979 and additional purchases were made over the years. Of the park's 430+ acres only 90 of them are developed and the rest are left in their natural state, helping to protect the wetlands and forests of an important wildlife corridor on a tributary of the Fox River. Some of the park's developed areas include 4 baseball fields, a bike path, an archery range, playground, and trails. Mitchell Park was named for the second mayor of Brookfield. Come out and have fun.
This was RecPlanet place of the day on February 15, 2017.
