Welcome to Summerton Bog State Natural Area in Oxford, Wisconsin. This diverse nature preserve of bog, low meadow, shrub, and tamarack communities is located on an old glaciated lakebed. There is a 5 acre island that is a small oak forest and on it's western end is what is known as a calcareous fen wich calcium rich waters that support a number of plant species including bluejoint grass and lousewort.
