Aulavik National Park

Northwest Territories, Canada

Aulavik National Park is a beautiful protected wilderness located in Canada's arctic region of the Northwest Territory. This park was first established in 1992. While there are no formal trails the terrain is easily walkable but one must use an aircraft or a watercraft to get here. The Thomsen River offers many miles of paddling scenery. Some of the resident wildlife include grizzlies, foxes, and dozens of species of birds.
