Spruce Woods Provincial Park
Welcome to Manitoba's grand and beautiful Spruce Woods Provincial Park. This park helps protect a wilderness of praries and forests and some of it's unique features include spring fed ponds as well as towering sand dunes known as Spirit Sands. Much of the park's landscape was carved out by glacial retreat at the end of the last ice age many thousands of years ago and the park also has a human history that dates back at least 11,000 years. In the late 19th century steamboats brought traders into the region. The land became a Forest Preserve as early as 1895 and finally in 1964 it gained Provincial Park status.
Camping: The Kiche Manitou Campground has a number of activities, services, and campsites (Including some backcountryk as well as Equestrian campsites). For those who prefer to sleep indoors there are also a few cabins available.
