Whiteshell Provincial Park
Welcome to Manitoba's magnificent Whiteshell Provincial Park, a diverse forest and wetlands wilderness located on what is known as the Precambrian Shield. This place has a human history of hunter/gatherer Native Americans that date back to the end of the last ice age thousands of years ago. Many manmade objects and rock formations have been found in the park over the years. In the 17th century the Canoe helped make this place very important in the fur trade and two centuries later the arrival of the Canadian National Railway brought a temporary gold rush to the region.
Trails: Hikers from near and far flock here to explore some of the best hiking trails in the Province. During the wintertime skiers and snowmobilers are welcome. While on the trails one may see moose, bears, eagles, and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
