Devil’s Tower National Monument

Devil's Tower, Wyoming

Devil's Tower National Monument is a beautiful and natural granite monolith in Wyoming's Bear Lodge Mountains rising 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River. Native Americans of the northern plains tribes have considered this to be a sacred place for many centuries. For many decades it has been one of North America's top rock-climbing spots. The first two climbers on modern record did it in the 1890's and were named William Rogers and Willard Ripley.
