Summit Lake State Recreation Site

Welcome to Alaska's beautiful Summit Lake State Recreation Site located about 2 miles past Independence Mine State Historic Park on Hatcher Pass Road. The lake as well as the surrounding landscape were all carved out by glacial retreat. This is a very good place for para-gliding and has some very scenic hiking trails.
