Welcome to one of the oldest parks in the City of Tempe, Arizona, the magnificent Daley Park located just a few blocks south of Arizona State University. In 1950 the City of Tempe purchased this land from it's previous owners the Hudsons for a price of $10,600. The park itself is named after a generous man named Ed Daley who lived in the Tempe area and served as the City Manager during the Depression Era and World War II up until his death in 1953. Daley was born in the region and attended college in California where he eventually got a job with the Toohey Brothers Company, a road building firm. Daley also worked for a copper mining company in the town of Christmas, Arizona before moving back to Tempe during the Depression Era. Today this park has basketball courts, volleyball courts, a playground for the kids a picnic area with grills, and more. Come out and have fun!
