Tuesday, September, 12, 2023

Just a note that this is the list of completed cities and counties (and sometimes states) for RecPlanet. Any place on the list has been (to the best of my knowledge) covered completely. This list could serve as a reference for a potential data entry contest.

5 Ways To Stay Healthy While Camping
Monday, October, 02, 2017
JennyH

It’s the tail end of summer, and as the weather turns colder, campers find that it’s easy to get sick while enjoying the great outdoors. Many campers have experienced cutting their trip short to stay home and recuperate, but in truth, these illnesses are preventable if one takes care to prepare to camp in cold weather. Being adequately prepared, making good food choices, protecting oneself, and getting lots of exercise is key to staying...Read More

Off-roading in the Oconee National Forest
Saturday, March, 04, 2017
iceyt1981

Today I decided to go on a different adventure. I left the city for the afternoon and drove down Georgia 212 (a road that would change my life forever for the better) and entered the Oconee National Forest near Monticello, Georgia. When I was a senior at Georgia College and State University I came to this forest a few times to explore. It does not contain the mountain vistas or the waterfalls of Georgia's other National Forest, the Chattahoochee National Forest but it is beautiful in it's own ways. The United States Government owns over 600 million acres of land, most of them are in the Western...Read More

South Side of Tray Mountain in an Acura MDX
Saturday, March, 04, 2017
iceyt1981

Just a little while back I had returned to one of my favorite places in the world, the North Georgia Mountains, a place I have been exploring since I was 7 years old in 1989. Of course back then my ability to explore was rather limited, no drivers license, no car, and no way I could safely venture deep into the woods without the presence of an adult. But even back when I was learning the mountains and that knowledge still pays off today. My old car was a 2007 Hyundai Accent but I wrecked her last October. My new set of wheels is an Acura MDX which I purchased from my sister. Does not get nearly as good gas milage as the Accent but it is a step up in luxury...Read More
