Missouri’s swampland in Mingo National Wildlife Refuge makes the perfect afternoon adventure.
Mingo established in 1944 as a resting and wintering area for migratory waterfowls draws nearly a 100,000 visitors a year and why? Because it is absolutely beautiful year round.
My favorite activity at Mingo is taking an afternoon stroll through the well-designed boardwalks, but there is so much to do and so many things to do. Wildlife hides out in the well-protected area, unusual plants grow here, and it is unique year around. Mingo should be on the top 10 list of best places to catch unique photos in the world.
