San Juan Bautista California Parks
San Juan Bautista State Historic Park is off the beaten path in Monterey County, California. The Park is a historic landmark reminiscent of the Spanish-era mission, providing visitors insight into California’s rich history.
The Park historically served as a vital crossroad point for travelers, significant to early settler history. The transient usage of the land is still apparent to this day. The San Juan Bautista State Historic Park includes four main buildings: the Plaza Hotel, the CastroBreen Adobe, the Plaza Hall/Zanetta House, and the Plaza Stables.
The on-site plaza used to be the “town square” of the largest town in California. Be sure to keep an eye out for the operational church on the grounds—Mission San Juan Bautista has been operating since its founding in the 1800s.
This Historic Park is an excellent stop for a reflection of history, requiring a small entry fee to explore buildings!
