Welcome to Simi Valley's beautifull Challenger Park located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Come out and explore the trails and do some bird-watching. This park is likely named in memory of the Space Shuttle Challenger which blew up upon taking off on January 28, 1986. This was RecPlanet place of the day on January 28, 2016 in honor of the 30th anniversary of the event.
