Welcome to Beardsley Park located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The history of this park goes back to 1878 when a cattle rancher named James Beardsley donated 100 acres of land to City of Bridgeport. In 1884 the City hired the great Frederick Law Olmstead to design this park and in 1920 the zoo opened and today it remains the only zoo in the State of Connecticut.
