Welcome to Meriden's Giuffrida Park.

Park History: The land that is now Giuffrida Park was the site of the first wwhite settlement in the region, a farm run Jonathan Gilbert and eventually Captain Andrew Belcher in the late 17th and early 18th century. In 1735 attemps were made to find gold on the land but no gold was ever discovered. The park's reservoir was built in the late 19th century by the Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company.

This was RecPlanet place of the day on January 5, 2017.

When one is enjoying this park they are asked to abide by the following rules;

*The following are all prohibited; littering, rock-climbing, burning, swimming, boating, alcoholic beverages, narcotics.

*No walking on the dam.

*All animals must be leashed and waste removed.

*All fishing requires State of Connecticut liscence.

Please treat these rules and the park with respect. Come on out and have a blast!
