Welcome to the great Hubbard Park in Meriden, Connecticut. This large and beautiful urban park dates back to the end of the 19th century when the park's tower was built and the land's previous owner Walter Hubbard. The top of the tower, also known as Castle Crag, is just over 1,000 feet above sea level. The park itself was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who also did Central Park in New York as well as many others around the nation. The region's bedrock was formed by volcanic activity over 200 million years ago.
