Hidden Valley Preserve

Washington Depot, Connecticut

Welcome to grand and beautiful Hidden Valley Preserve located on the banks of the Shepaug River in Washington Depot, Connecticut. This natural park was donated to the Steep Rock Association in 1963 by the Van Sinderen Family and today it has over 17 miles of meadows going through it's forests and meadows. While on the trails one can see the remains of an old quartz mine that ceased operations in 1915, cross a bridge named for the great Henry David Thoreau, and see awesome views of the region from the Pinnacle which sits at an elevation of 820 feet above sea level.
