Wekiwa Springs State Park

Welcome to the beautiful Wekiwa Springs State Park located at the headwaters of the Wekiwa River in Apopka, Florida. This park is a paradise for both the terrestrial as well as aquatic recreational enthusiast. Canoe and kayak rentals are available here. There are 13 miles of multipurpose trails just waiting to be explored. The springs themselves produce 42 million gallons of water per day. 

Camping: There are 60 wooded campsites all with electricity and water.

Swimming: The water of the springs is a cool 72 degrees year round making it a popular summertime swimming hole. It is also a great place for snorkeling. There are no lifeguards on duty so please swim at your own risk.

Park History: Long before the first European settlers entered the region this was prime hunting and fishing ground for the Timucuan Native American tribe. In the late 19th and early 20th century much of the land was harvested for it's timber resources and was even a private hunting resort owned by a local hunting club before becoming a State Park in 1969.
