Welcome to Jacksonville's Henry J. Klutho Park. Formerly known as Springfield Park, the land that is Henry J. Klutho Park was donated to the City of Jacksonville in the late 19th Century by the Springfield Company, a local real estate development firm. This park was the site of the first City Zoo of Jacksonville as well as the first municipal pool. Throughtout the 20th century the park underwent many improvements done by groups such as the Springfield Improvement Association & Women's Club and architect Henry Klutho, for whom the park is now named. In 1984 a portion of Springfield Park was renamed in honor of Mr. Kluto for not only his contributions to the park itself but also for his work in helping to rebuild the City of Jacksonville after the fire of 1901. Today this park offers many opportunities for residents and visitors of Jacksonville. The tennis courts at this park are lighted. Come on out and have fun.
