Welcome to Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida on the banks of the Saint John's River. Believe it or not this land used to be an operating landfill before becoming an urban park in 1982. This park received a prestigious award in 1986 and also a makeoever in 1990. The picnic area has grills so bring some meats for cooking.
